Bad Gastein - the wild side of the Alps
If you are looking for a party destination then you have just found the perfect place to be. Here you will be met by an international crowd and Austrian hospitality. No one is really surprised that Bad Gastein can hold its position as the most popular ski resort in Austria year after year.
Here, all who believe that nightlife, off-piste and après-ski are the three main reasons of even going on a skiing holiday will feel most at home. Bad Gastein has it all - and then some. With access to five rugged mountains, the skiing in Bad Gastein is among the best Austria has to offer. And in addition to its great skiing an even better Après-Skiing, Bad Gastein is one of the few genuine spa resorts in Europe, with hot springs and lovely thermal baths.
Party and Hot Springs
Bad Gastein is almost too good to be true. An old exclusive spa resort of palatial buildings surrounded by surreal rugged mountains. The village is very hilly with high houses densely placed next to each other along the winding narrow roads. In the lower part of the village there even is a waterfall. All the good things in Bad Gastein are conveniently gathered in one place - world class Aprés-ski, fun alpine shopping and, of course, the vibrant nightlife. No matter what night of the week you go out, there is always something going on here. Bad Gastein can even boast its own casino.
5 ski-systems and 42 ski-lifts
But it’s not just the parties that draw so many to Bad Gastein. Snow conditions are good and 203 km of slopes keep ski-enthusiasts entertained from morning to evening. With everything from the coolest carving slopes to super challenging black and off-piste slopes you will never be bored here. Whatever the weather, you are never far from a great skiing experience. Modern gondolas and a well-developed network of ski busses makes the transportation between the different systems, Bad Gastein, Bad Hofgastein, Dorfgastein and Sport Gastein very easy.
Sport Gastein is the highest with a great view of the montains, you can enjoy while skiing up at 2600 meters above sea level. Up here, the natural beauty of the place is an experience in itself - a beautiful national park in alpine terrain. In the more protected Dorfgastein you can ski among the trees and on long wide slopes on both sides of the mountain, here you can enjoy the sun both in the morning and in the afternoon. In Sports Gastein and Angertal you'll find a wide array of cross-country ski trails.
The atmosphere here is so addictive most of our guests return year after year.
