Deichkind and Alligatoah at the Schladming Ski Opening
Spectacular stage shows celebrating ten years of Planai ski openings
The now legendary ski opening in Schladming is celebrating its tenth anniversary. On 2 December, top acts Deichkind and Alligatoah will turn the Planai World Championship Park into the biggest dance floor in Styria with dazzling stage shows and musical performances that will have you on your feet.
When the Planai ski opening is just round the corner, that means winter is not far off. Once again, the Planai team has pulled out all the stops to kick the season off with a bang. With acts like Deichkind and Alligatoah, you can count on a party to remember.
Deichkind – Leider Geil
Even the titles of their songs promise a great party vibe: "Leider geil" (Unfortunately Awesome), "Remmidemmi" (Shindy) and "Niveau Weshalb Warum" (Class Why Wherefore). They refer to themselves as "the Federal Republic's most powerful pop-performance-art trash-and-rhyming collective". And nobody who has ever seen a live performance by Deichkind can argue with that. These Hamburg musicians are considered one of the best live acts in Europe.
The second act of the ski opening is just as far out and equally renowned for his stage performances: German rapper and vocalist Alligatoah. He has gained the attention of a wide audience since at least 2014 with that year's hit single, "Willst du" (Do You Want). His two albums, "Triebwerk" (Engine) and "Musik ist keine Lösung" (Music Is No Solution) were certified gold.
Slope-side warm-up with mountain punk Hannah
Everyone who can hardly wait to hit the slopes and enjoy the snow can look forward to a performance by alpine punk rocker Hannah on the afternoon of 2 December at Schafalm Planai.
Weekend programme for 2-4 December
The concert on Friday will kick off a full opening weekend. The Snowbreaker Party will be held on the Planai on Saturday. On Sunday there will be skiing on the Planai with the option to test skis and get some ski school action as well as enjoy après-ski with the Ö3 Pistenbully.
Planai Management Director Georg Bliem: "Each year we set the bar a little higher, and we are especially pleased that Deichkind is coming this year because they have been on the wish list for two years."
State Tourism Director Dr Christian Buchmann: "The Planai Ski Opening has become as much a part of kicking off the winter season as the snow on the Planai. Every year, the Planai team succeeds in putting the Schladming-Dachstein region in the limelight, and the state of Styria along with it, beyond our own borders."
Starting immediately, tickets are available at Öticket and directly from the Planai-Bahnen.
