Wagrain - What to do after skiing?
The day's last run on the slope and you are heading down the hill with the afternoon sun shining over the snow packed Alps. The body is tired after a day full of amazing skiing experiences, but no one wants to call it a day when the skiing equipment is stowed away. But what can you really do when on a ski holiday in Wagrain and you are done skiing for the day? We have listed some tips for you here.
First of all you should end the day with a real good after ski. Enjoy the atmosphere, the music and a cup of hot chocolate or an Austrian beer. Catch your breath and share the day’s experiences with fellow skiers. There is also the possibility of dancing on the table if your legs are not too tired. We highly recommend Kuhstahl located at the Flying Mozart lift.
Water fun and playroom for the kids
Both Grafenberg Resort and Hotel Kirchboden have a swimming pool in the hotel, so there is plenty of possibilities to burn off some extra energy in case you have some left. Both hotels also have playrooms with e.g. play station and drawing board.
In Wagrain there is also a smaller water world with slide, to which you even have daily free access. You get a daily 3 hours’ entrance to the indoor pool. Check out the winter opening hours on: wasserwelt.at.
If you as parent need some extra relaxation, you can do this at the hotels spa and wellness area. Let the day’s experiences sink in and let the body relax. If you are staying at Grafenberg Resort, you will have access to a sauna, a steam bath, a whirlpool, a relax area and a swimming pool. If you are staying at Hotel Kirchboden, you will have access to a swimming pool with massage streams for sour muscles, a sauna, a steam bath and an infrared cabin.
How about sledding down a 7-km long hill on a toboggan? There is something very special about this experience and everyone can join. In fact, it is more fun if you go together with others. And remember, toboggan is not only for children!
Skating on ice
If you have a small ice princess or hockey player in the family, there are good opportunities to skate on Wagrain’s ice rink.
Skiing in the dark
If you have not had enough skiing, even though the sun has gone down, you will be able to continue the skiing after dark in Flachau with or without a guide. There is something special about skiing down the hill in the silence and the darkness, when the slopes are lit by the stars and creaking under the skis.
Home sweet home
You may just want to relax with the family in the room or in the apartment. Talking about the day that has now almost passed and plan tomorrows skiing by looking at the lift map. Play games, watch a movie and just unwind and relax.
So, even though skiing is over for the day, there is still a lot of activities to choose from. Talk to the guides or ask in the reception, and they will gladly help you arrange activities.
